I would always say they could be frequenter and more substantialer, but that's just basic self improvement. Receiving money for the product, even if it is just to cover costs, puts a level of commitment to the project. I am not saying that producing a free version of something that is paid means it is inherently inferior, but it means you are solely at the whim of its developer/creator/designer/person. Money does not make a project better by itself, a project is only going to be as successful as the passion of its creator. To me money is what makes up the slack on those days where you just cannot be bothered and keeps you going until you find something to get excited about again. After having both a paid MultiCraft license for 2 servers, and using SpaceBukkit, I've come to a conclusion about them both. Both are actually in use right now, and spanned across 3 machines and 8 Minecraft servers.

Beyond that, my test server is on the way to running MineOS CRUX instead of MCMA or SpaceBukkit, assuming some issues with hardware RAID are resolved with the 2.6.x kernel in CRUX. Something that, AFAIK, doesn't ship with SpaceBukkit, or MineOS CRUX is permissions and group modification from the panel. MCMA has that, although it is the main reason I'm not currently planning to continue using MCMA, as it's a one-way sync between the panel and the permissions system.
Beyond that, like has already been said, SpaceBukkit's documentation (and website) are a disaster. I attempted to read through the wiki on their site (granted months ago) and its riddled with missing pages, outdated information, and instructions that don't work. This one thing kept me from taking SpaceBukkit too seriously when considering what my next panel would be: It gives an aire of unprofessional-ism that puts off many potential converts.

Because both I and my fellow admins knew how to use MCMA, I purchased a single license. If today I go to to see what spacebukkit offers that mcma doesn't, I dont' see much. But for now, I've already paid for MCMA, plus my host still provides an enterprise license for MCMA. I never claimed MCMA was easier to install. But I will now. I don't know what features spacebukkit has be cause it's documentation is lacking.
I haven't tried it so I cannot and have not made that comparison. My initial assessment was based solely on the frontpage. In addition, it appears that spacebukkit requires bukkit. That seems like a failing starting point, as bukkit will not be supported long after a Mod API is released (speculation on my part). MCMA runs vanilla servers just fine. I'm not claiming MCMA isn't without its own faults.
It's 'backup' system is failry inadequate, in that it ignores the plugins folder, multiworld setups, and MCMA's own Json settings. My key point is that I don't see enough to invest the effort to switch, and an enterprise license of MCMA is already provided to me by my provider. Now, I see that this post is your only reddit history. I find that a bit odd. Because it wraps the server it has access to the console. That means it can see anything the players say and can issue admin commands.
I use a similar system - if someone says!tp (name), and that person hasn't opted out, a script that watches the server log will issue the rcon command 'tp (source) (target)' on their behalf. That way I have a way for players to cooperate on builds (players tend to be very spaced out on my server) that still works even when a minecraft update comes out and we have to go back to the mojang server instead of the bukkit one.
